I Know is a song that Michael and I started in our senior year of college. I can remember sitting outside of Young Orchard Apartments at Brown with a couple of guitars composing it.

The idea behind the song is pretty clear when you start listening to it — knowing someone well enough that you know all of their secrets and having the trust that you won’t divulge them to anyone else.

We’ve recorded various studio and live versions of I Know over the years. This most recent version features Michael’s piano skills and gives a different feel to the song — a bit more reflective than our previous guitar/rock versions.

As always, we’re experimenting with different recording techniques, so if you like something about this better or worse than Broken Up, please let us know — we’re happy to hear the feedback.

this is a really sweet song and i love the lyrics – but i didn’t really like the organ part too much at the end .. it sounded almost video-gamey to me, but thats just my opinion. overall, great song and one i’ll definitely be singing to myself all week 🙂

Nice work guys. My main criticism is that the tone of the piano is pretty digitized, I’m guessing its done in software? Get kellie to play it on the Yamaha piano for you 🙂 Section that starts at 2:03 could use an acoustic guitar playing arpeggio style rather than the organ. Lyrics and song structure is nicely done, keep them songs coming!
